SHOULD I CHECK WITH MY DOCTOR BEFORE BEGINNING THIS PROGRAM?
Although this program essentially is a clean eating program, it is always a good idea to check with your doctor before taking on any new health program, especially if you are on any medications, have particular health conditions or if you are pregnant.
WILL I BE STARVING?
Not at all! There are recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plenty of snacks and even dessert. Every meal is delicious and was created to nourish your body from the inside out. This program is not about starvation or deprivation, and we are not counting calories or dwelling on carbs and fats. You will feel satisfied with every bite. If you do get hungry, there are extra snack recipes included!
I’M ALREADY SO BUSY! HOW WILL I MANAGE TO FIT THIS PROGRAM INTO MY LIFE?
For most, life is very busy. Adding more things, especially food, prep might seem overwhelming. I suggest sifting through your life and evaluating how you spend your time – you may realize how much of it you could maximize to benefit your health and wellbeing. It may be advantageous to set-aside non-essential events like dinners and social gatherings for the duration of the program, to make life easier, make your cleanse more enjoyable and for you to maximize the benefits. After all, it’s only two weeks from start to finish. Giving yourself this time is part of the cleansing process; your body will thank you for pampering yourself with a delicious food and special rituals. Self-care is a key part of your health and your body’s ability to detoxify.
CAN I STILL WORKOUT DURING THE PROGRAM?
Please keep working out! If you feel tired or have low energy, exercising restores both strength and energy. During this program, you’ll be eating protein and drinking plenty of liquids, so if you’re already exercising, there’s no reason to stop! It’s important to remember that whenever you change the foods you eat, your body changes as well. Please consult your doctor if you have any specific health concerns.
WHAT SORT OF PROTEINS WILL I BE EATING?
Options to include plant and/or animal-based proteins will be listed in your recipes and suggested meals. There are so many “clean eating protein sources” to choose from you won’t get boredS! See your 11-day meal planner for protein suggestions.
CAN I DO THIS IF I’M NURSING OR PREGNANT?
If you are nursing, I suggest that you add at least 4-6 ounces of protein at lunch and dinner, boost your morning smoothie with a scoop of hemp or pea protein and eat snacks in between meals. Also, adjust your morning elixir to include lemon water only. Make sure you consume extra fat and drink enough liquids. This program does not include any cleanse-provoking supplements, but again, please consult with your doctor prior to starting this program if you have any health concerns.
WILL I FEEL WEAK DURING THE PROGRAM?
The vast majority of cleansers feel amazingly strong and energized with this program. [Your own strength will amaze you!] In the beginning, your body may go through a “healing phase” to re-balance and let go of toxicity. It is important to listen to your body through this program, and I will be here to support you with that. I will guide you, step-by-step, through any unwanted symptoms that may appear, helping you reduce them. This program is completely flexible, designed to figure out what works for YOU!
I DON’T EAT GLUTEN OR DAIRY ANYWAY. CAN THIS PROGRAM STILL HELP ME?
Cleansing isn’t just about eliminating gluten and dairy. Remember, we are exposed to many substances that are toxic to our system. Many people who eat very “clean” already can still benefit from an elimination diet, taking their healthy habits to the next level. Changing up the foods we eat gives our digestion time to rest and reset, which can be helpful for anyone regardless of their current eating habits. There is something new to be learned for everyone, regardless of the level at which you enter the program. Many clean eaters and healthy people are amazed at what they learn during the program!
WHAT SIDE EFFECTS MIGHT I EXPERIENCE?
Some people go through this program and feel nothing but energized, while others may feel tired or light-headed as their bodies eliminate and let go of unnecessary toxins. The experience will differ from one person to the next, but this program is designed with that in mind, and you’ll have access to all the tools you need to keep any unwanted symptoms at bay.
